Fully charged and ready to Zap&Go

As Principal Consultant at Tellus Solutions, Andrew O’Dua spends most of his time supporting businesses in achieving growth. But for the rest of the time, Andrew O’Dua acts as a Business Angel – investing in a wide range of up and coming businesses. Here’s the latest news from one of them:

We live in a world where technology has become part of our daily lives, however more often than not, we find ourselves frustrated when our trusty devices lose charge – and then take too long to recharge! Zap&Go have developed a solution to the problems encountered by all the current generation of appliances, devices and vehicles powered by lithium: slow charging. Called Carbon-IonTM, in contrast to Lithium-ion, this technology is based on carbon nano-materials including the ‘wonder-material’ graphene. Amazing!

The technology and a growing patent portfolio is in part derived from Oxford University, and in part developed independently by Zap&Go’s own scientists. The company is at the proof of concept stage with a number of prototype demonstrators with their module due to enter the production phase later this year.  To support this new phase, Zap&Go have strengthened their team and appointed four new members of staff, bringing their total team number to 20.

Zap&Go are starting the year with a bang and are exhibiting a number of prototypes ‘powered by Zap&Go’ at one of the biggest tech shows of the year- Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, from 5th-8th January.

In addition, Zap&Go was recently voted one of the 100 most promising European and Global technology companies of 2016 by online publishers Red Herring. They were the only European energy storage company to make the Red Herring list too!

As an avid technology fan, Andrew O’Dua is always excited to hear about the developments Zap&Go are making, “This is a really exciting business to be involved with. Zap&Go have not only tapped into a huge market, but are also developing a fantastic product which could revolutionise the way we use our tech. I can’t wait to see the production stages later this year!”
